Summer Falls

Now that it finally feels like Summer has landed, here are a slew of shows we’d love to see you at soon and in the near future, which includes some festival action (yet another NXNE) and our first time gracing the Opera House – opening for Ireland’s God is an Astronaut!

Wednesday, June 12 @ NXNE

Return to Soil

After the successful debut of Massages By Strangers with AUTOMATES at ITS Rhizomes last year, we couldn’t be happier to return to St. Catharines for this year’s In the Soil Festival 2019. Catch us at the Merchant Ale House outdoor stage on Friday, June 7 @ 8:30pm. Get your ITS tix here.

Massages Again

Massages By Strangers

Massages By Strangers, an evening of massages and electronic music produced by art duo AUTOMATES, is back for its Toronto premiere, presented by DesignTO Festival. From Phèdre‘s uncanny electronics to electro madness from yours truly, from KOREA TOWN ACID‘s sweet blissed beats to WeTurnToRed‘s modular insanity, this evening at Viz @ Viz (whose stage Depression Era just christened during Indie Week 2018!) promises to rub you the right way all night long.

More info: check out DesignTO Festival (Jan 17 – 28, 2019)

Strange Massage

Massages By Strangers picAUTOMATES, a multi-discliplinary art collective that includes DE’s very own AY, will present their Massages By Strangers performance at the great In the Soil festival’s Rhizomes program in St. Catherines. Live electro accompaniment will be provided by DE so, with everyone’s consent and respect, expect moody feels, rubs, stretches in a church tower! Event info here.

Bat Turns One

One year ago, this humble duo was the first band to join the freshly minted Electric Bat Records, who helped us birth our debut release – Vol. 1. Thanks to EBR, we’ve made many new faithful friends and reached tonnes of ears. So the arrival of the label’s sampler this week is an anniversary of sorts. This PWYC collection of songs contains a selection from our growing roster of labels mates, which features the latest femmes and guys contributing to the electronic noire scene (hey, SLUTMOTHER, Scrape, AnaToneDaMania) and includes acts as far away as Turkey (yo, Art Diktator). Please enjoy.

Glass Elevator

So excited to bring you our latest music video In a Glass Elevator by DE close collaborator Nelson Tam (PomoBoho Media) starring Stephanie Cozzette. Many thanks to Siânteuse.

Pay-What-You-Can: Now you canset your price for our debut EP, Vol. 1 (digital download), via our Bandcamp site!
